- 00:00Welcome everybody to our last event
- 00:02for the 10th Annual Global Health
- 00:04Day in the Department of Medicine.
- 00:06This is our fifth annual conference
- 00:08physical and mental health of refugees,
- 00:10the COVID-19 update.
- 00:12We are very excited to be able to
- 00:15be here with all of you tonight.
- 00:18Just some acknowledgments,
- 00:19we as always we don't have any corporate
- 00:21support for educational activities,
- 00:23and although this event is much
- 00:25lower budget event than in the past
- 00:27this year I did want to make sure
- 00:30that we think are prior sponsors.
- 00:32The Young Macmillan Center
- 00:33Department of Internal Medicine,
- 00:34the Office of Global Health Education,
- 00:36Department of Pediatrics and
- 00:38Department of Psychiatry.
- 00:41As far as our agenda,
- 00:43so we have a lot to pack into
- 00:45our hour and a half tonight.
- 00:48It's our first session will be
- 00:50my probably giving a welcome and
- 00:52state of the Union on the current
- 00:54US refugee program and an animal I
- 00:57director of the of the Yale Adult
- 00:59Refugee program will be talking
- 01:01briefly about some changes to the
- 01:03refugee clinics after that at 6:15.
- 01:05Jennifer Clem is going to give a
- 01:08talk on challenges and adaptations
- 01:10for adult refugee health care
- 01:12during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- 01:15She will be followed by Julia
- 01:17Rosenberg and Trisha McDonald
- 01:18Ryan giving a talk on mental and
- 01:20behavioral health for refugee
- 01:22children in the era of COVID-19
- 01:24challenges and community partnerships.
- 01:26And then we'll finish it off
- 01:28with a panel this evening.
- 01:30I will have two speakers on vaccination
- 01:32outreach in the refugee community.
- 01:34We're very excited to have breeder
- 01:36Roy and Jason's Jason Schwartz
- 01:38talking with us this evening.
- 01:40Since we have a packed agenda
- 01:42and things always tend to run
- 01:44a little bit behind schedule,
- 01:46I wanted to do our thank yous up front.
- 01:49So in addition to the folks who are
- 01:51already have already been recognized
- 01:52who are speaking this evening,
- 01:54we also wanted to thank Doctor
- 01:56Animal I'm director of the Yale
- 01:58Adult Refugee Health Clinic.

- 02:00director of the Yale Pediatric
- 02:02Refugee Health clinic.
- 02:03Chris Gardner in the Department
- 02:04of Psychiatry who had put together
- 02:06our website and then Brian Brown,
- 02:08Anna Meiler O'Neill, who are two fellows.
- 02:11In the Department of Internal
- 02:12Medicine who work in the adult
- 02:15refugee Clinic and as always,
- 02:16we want to thank the adult and pediatric
- 02:19refugee clinic patients and staff.
- 02:21Without them we wouldn't be here.
