Rajita Sinha, PhD, Chief, Psychology Section

With over 200 full time and voluntary faculty, the Psychology Section within the Yale Department of Psychiatry is one of the largest and most accomplished groups of psychologists in an academic medical center. The discipline of psychology has had a strong presence in the Yale School of Medicine dating back to the early 1950s. Yale psychology faculty in Psychiatry are leaders in the field and in their areas of specialty, as evidenced by their record of grants, publications, awards, and roles in professional organizations and government-sponsored boards and committees. They play major roles in carrying out the central clinical and community care, education and research missions in the Medical School and its affiliated institutions. These include: managing and providing clinical, rehabilitative, and consultative services; training students from diverse disciplines; conducting program evaluations and leading research programs. Faculty within the Psychology Section value interdisciplinary, team-based approaches and collaborate locally, nationally, and internationally on all forms of professional activity.
