Medical Student Education
Welcome to the Department of Psychiatry! Our residents, fellows, and faculty are committed to excellence and innovation in student education. The Department of Psychiatry participates in all four years of the medical school curriculum.
Medical students are introduced to psychiatry in the first and second year, in the classroom and beyond.
The six-week psychiatry clerkship includes a broad array of clinical experiences in psychiatry, supplemented by a rich didactic curriculum and individualized student tutoring.
Fourth Year Psychiatry Electives
In the fourth year, we offer many clinical electives. These clinical electives are open to visiting US or international students.

In their 3rd year Yale Medical Students do a 6 week clinical rotation in Psychiatry on one of the various training sites.
