May 19, 2017

Each year, The Consultation Center selects exemplary local leaders who have demonstrated hard work, dedication, and a deep commitment to building a stronger community. The Consultation Center presented awards for outstanding contributions that support the mission of The Consultation Center to promote health and wellness, prevent mental health and substance abuse problems, and enhance equity and social justice:

The Award for Individual Excellence was presented to Mr. Kenneth Harris, Director of New Haven Healthy Start, in recognition of his dedication to fostering a healthy life course for women, their children, and fathers, and his commitment to eliminating racial and ethnic health disparities.

The Award for Organizational Excellence was presented to FAVOR, Inc. and its Executive Director, Dr. Jo Hawke, in recognition of their commitment to empowering Connecticut families to be active partners in a family-driven and culturally competent behavioral health network of care that improves child outcomes and family well-being.

The awards ceremony was held at the Yale MacMillan Center on May 18, 2017.
