Director of Psychological Assessment Services, Yale New Haven Hospital

The Department of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine seeks a licensed clinical psychologist to serve as the Director of Psychological Assessment Services, with expertise in neurocognitive/neuropsychological testing and evaluation, within Yale New Haven Hospital’s Psychiatric Services. The position carries a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry, and includes participation in the Department’s APA-accredited Doctoral Psychology Internship Program. Funding for the position starts July 1, 2019.

The Director of the Psychological Assessment will be responsible for developing, overseeing and maintaining a highly responsive, psychological assessment service geared to meet the needs of an acute care inpatient psychiatric facility and psychiatric consultation service.

Qualified candidates will possess expertise in the provision of rapid symptom and neurocognitive assessments to aid in diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning. Candidates must have the ability to perform diagnostic assessments for complex patients, and have experience working within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, hospital setting. Strong candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have experience/expertise with a wide variety of brief symptom and neurocognitive and neuropsychological assessment measures. Candidates should also have interest and experience supervising predoctoral psychology interns and/or practicum students in psychological assessment.

Candidates must be licensed (or licensed eligible) within the State of Connecticut and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to function well as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses.

Director of Research and Evaluation at the Center on Policy Innovation for Family Mental Health

Job Summary/Focus

The Center on Policy Innovation for Family Mental Health at Yale School of Medicine works with government partners to advance mental health as a pathway to social and economic mobility. Part of this work is replicating the nationally recognized MOMS Partnership® program in new locations. The Center is also engaging government partners to forward the mission in other ways.

Reporting directly to the Director of the Center, the Director of Research and Evaluation will play a critical role in executing on this mission by conducting and eventually overseeing all research and evaluation work of the Center. PhD or equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred.

Examples of Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation of the MOMS Partnership program that the Center is scaling through work developing a theory of change, baseline assessments for replication sites, and impact evaluations to measure outputs and outcomes of the MOMS replication.
  • Develop quality assurance and improvement reports for each MOMS Partnership site and utilizes data to drive decision-making processes.
  • Conduct research as part of the Center’s work with government partners on other areas beyond the replication of the MOMS Partnership.
  • Promulgate or assist in the preparation of grant applications or other funding opportunities.
  • With the Principal Investigator and other contributors, author peer-reviewed research publications.
