Averill receives travel award to attend ACNP annual meeting

July 01, 2016

Lynnette Averill, PhD, associate research scientist in psychiatry, has been chosen to receive a travel award to attend the 2016 annual meeting of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP).

The meeting will be held December 4-8 at the Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Fla.

The grant will cover Averill’s travel and registration expenses, and will guarantee her an automatic invitation to attend the ACNP annual meeting for the next four years.

Each travel awardee is expected to submit a poster to present at the meeting.

Averill has done research on the drug ketamine, and last year her work was chosen by the Brain & Behavior Foundation to be part of its Research Partners Program. The program enables the foundation’s most generous supporters to designate their gift to a scientist based on interest in a specific topic, institution, or geographic area.

Averill’s research project, “Intrinsic Connectivity and Cognitive Impairment in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder,” is being funded in the first year by the NY Women’s Committee.
