July 28, 2020

U.S. News & World Report has again ranked Yale New Haven Hospital Behavioral Health Services among the top 10 hospitals for psychiatry in its 2020-21 Best Hospitals rankings.

YNHH placed tenth among adult psychiatry hospitals to maintain its long presence in the national rankings.

“It is wonderful, once again, to be included among the top 10 programs in the nation,” said John H. Krystal, MD, Chief of Psychiatry at Yale New Haven Hospital and Chair of the Yale Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. “It is a reflection of our deep commitment to patients, incredible faculty and staff, ground-breaking new treatments and programs, and our world-class trainees.”

The Yale Department of Psychiatry has long been nationally ranked in several areas, including medical training and research funding. In 2019, the department received $75.5 million in grant funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), most in the U.S., according to a report by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.
