Rajesh R. Tampi, MD, Professor Adjunct of Psychiatry, is the editor of the new book, “Psychotherapy in Later Life,” published by Cambridge University Press.
The publisher describes the book as a “practical how-to-guide for psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health workers on choosing and delivering evidence-based psychological therapies to older adults. It covers all the main evidence-based psychological therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), as well as specialist topics such as combining psychotherapy with pharmacological treatments, working with diverse populations and individual versus group therapy.”
Tampi maintains a faculty appointment at Yale and is Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. He is also Chair of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Akron, Ohio.
He was co-editor of the book “Psychiatric Ethics in Late-Life Patients” in 2019 with Aarti Gupta, MD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Yale.
