Lisa Fucito, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, presented her research at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism-sponsored workshop "Brief Alcohol Interventions for College and Young Adults" on October 10 and 11, 2019.
The goal of the workshop was to build upon the existing base of effective brief alcohol interventions for young adults and address key areas that will advance the field including:
- Optimizing Intervention Design
- Scale Up
Fucito presented her research focused on leveraging other health topics (such as sleep) and technology to engage and treat young adults who drink heavily.
Fucito is director of the Tobacco Treatment Service at Smilow Cancer Hospital and teaches and mentors medical students, residents, and fellows. She is an expert in the assessment and treatment of tobacco and heavy alcohol use. Her research has identified important predictors of tobacco and alcohol use and treatment response.
