Chandler Hand

Originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, Chandler earned a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University. As an undergraduate researcher, she investigated how disruptions in the microbiota-gut-brain axis may contribute to alcohol use behaviors and serve as potential targets for treatment. She also conducted field-based research at concerts and music festivals, collecting data on polysubstance use and harm reduction practices through participant interviews.

As a Postgraduate Associate at the Yale Stress Center, Chandler aims to continue research that focuses on leveraging technology to better understand alcohol and substance use behaviors, including patterns of craving, triggers, and real-world decision-making. She is interested in identifying biological, behavioral, and digital markers that can inform the development of more timely and personalized intervention and treatment strategies. In her free time, Chandler enjoys hiking, building puzzles, and going on long walks with her dog Kodi.
