Open/External Resources & Funding Sources

Program Description
APA Minority Fellowship APA's federally funded Minority Fellowship Programs (MFP) provide comprehensive support to empower future leaders in psychology from underrepresented communities.

NIH/NIMH: Fogarty International Center The Fogarty International Center at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) is dedicated to advancing the NIH mission by supporting and facilitating global health research conducted by U.S. and international investigators, building partnerships between health research institutions in the U.S. and abroad, and training the next generation of scientists to address global health needs. You may be eligible to apply for the NIH/NIMH: Chronic, Non-Communicable Diseases and Disorders Across the Lifespan: Fogarty International Research Training Award (NCD-LIFESPAN)
Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships The Title VI Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships program provides allocations of academic year and summer fellowships to institutions of higher education or consortia of institutions of higher education to assist meritorious undergraduate students and graduate students undergoing training in modern foreign languages and related area or international studies. Eligible students apply for fellowships directly to an institution that has received an allocation of fellowships from the U.S. Department of Education. FLAS fellowships are available for the summer and for the academic year.
Lindsay Fellowship for Research in Africa The Lindsay Fellowship for Research in Africa supports grants to graduate and professional students for summer research in order to increase understanding of Africa among Yale students. Only those returning to Yale in the semester following the award are eligible to receive an award. One or more fellowships of up to $3,000 will be awarded for field research in Africa. All applicants must apply through the Yale Student Grants & Fellowships database.
NIH Director's Early Independence Award This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) issued by the National Institutes of Health solicits applications for the NIH Director’s Early Independence Award (DP5) from institutions/organizations that propose to appoint and support exceptional early career scientists directly following the completion of their PhD (or equivalent) or MD (or equivalent) training into an independent academic research position, thereby omitting the traditional post-doctoral training period from their career path.
NIH Extramural Loan Repayment Program The NIH Loan Repayment Programs (LRPs) are a set of programs established by Congress and designed to recruit and retain highly qualified health professionals into biomedical or biobehavioral research careers. The LRPs counteract that financial pressure by repaying up to $50,000 annually of a researcher's qualified educational debt in return for a commitment to engage in NIH mission-relevant research.
