Research Summary
Dr Weiss's research interest is in the area of health professions education. Her projects are conducted locally and nationally and include curriculum development, assessment of learners and access to educational resources in fellowship programs.
Extensive Research Description
Dr. Weiss research interest is in health professions education. She is currently examining the effect of a curriculum in mental and behavioral health in chronic diseases on knowledge, skills and attitudes of pediatric fellows as well as the effectiveness of a novel tool in improving faculty feedback to residents. She is working with a group of pediatric educators at the national level on a number of studies, including 1) burnout in pediatric fellowship programs, 2) validity of entrustable professional activities as an assessment tool in pediatric fellowships and in determining readiness for independent practice, and 3) factors impacting scholarship in fellowship programs.
