INFORMATION FOR

Global Health

Global health focuses on the use of science and advocacy to improve the well-being of populations around the world. Health systems in developing and developed countries confront a range of significant challenges, highlighting an urgent need to address the pressing health concerns of underserved patients and communities.

As part of a robust and integrated global health curriculum, Yale medical students have the opportunity to conduct research in international settings and provide clinical services in low- and middle-income countries. In doing so, they gain a deep appreciation of cultural influences, a grounding in the principles of health equity, and hands-on experience in such areas as Latin America, East Africa, and Asia—as well as communities at home in New Haven.

With its position at the front lines of the global health response, Yale is committed to helping solve the systemic issues affecting health systems and improve the treatment of chronic and infectious diseases that impact so many disadvantaged communities around the world.
