COVID Status on the Yale Campus & in YNHH
We remind you that you can check the status of testing at Yale and the alert status on the Yale COVID-19 Statistics webpage. Yale COVID infections for the period from November 28th through December 11th are illustrated below:
New Haven Hospital (YNHH) Hospitalist Report on December 12th
- The YNHH COVID inpatient census is 109 inpatients (a increase] from 99 last week).
- The YNHH COVID ICU census is 11 with 4 intubated.
- The YNHH Influenza inpatient census is 72 patients.
- The YNHH RSV inpatient census is 20 patients.
The sharp rise in respiratory related illnesses in pediatric populations is putting an additional strain on our health system, I am sharing with you some of the data provided to the Department of Pediatrics faculty and staff by Dr. Clifford Bogue, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. The following chart illustrates the trend lines for in-patients at YNHCH by infection and illustrates the sharp increase in pediatric RSV admissions as of December 9th.
