Biography

Dr. Angelina Vernetti, Ph.D., is a Developmental Psychologist and a Research Scientist at the Social and Affective Neuroscience of Autism (SANA) Program within the Yale Child Study Center. Dr. Vernetti earned her doctoral degree in Developmental Psychology from Birkbeck, University of London, and completed her post-doctoral fellowship in autism research at the Yale Child Study Center Toddler Developmental Disabilities Clinic. Dr. Vernetti actively contributes to the training and mentorship of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral trainees within the Autism Program.

Aligned with the overarching goals of the Autism Program, her research interests are dedicated to informing interventional therapies by delving into the origins of social difficulties experienced by children with autism. Her research focuses on social attention, reinforcement learning, emotional regulation, and language processing using screen-based and live eye-tracking, physiological recording, and functional near infrared spectroscopy in infants of siblings with autism as well as toddlers and preschoolers with autism.
