Welcome to the Yale Child Study Center

Since 1911, the Center has been serving children and families from birth through adolescence. At our core is the mission to improve the lives of children and families through research, service, and training.

What We Do

We improve the mental health of children and families, advance understanding of their psychological and developmental needs, and treat and prevent childhood mental illness through research, clinical practice, and professional training.

In Memoriam: Edward F. Zigler

With deep sadness we share that Dr. Edward F. Zigler died at his home on February 7. Dr. Zigler was Sterling Professor Emeritus in both the Yale School of Medicine Psychology Department and in the Child Study Center. Dr. Zigler was a valued member of both departments and served on the executive committee of the Child Study Center for many years.
