Cushing/Whitney Medical Library Training: "Practical Research Data Management"
Registration is required. Please click here to register. Have you ever found yourself in this situation?
• “That variable named Kate12– do you remember what it is?”
• “I don’t know if it’s backed up.”
• “Which file do we want: Kate_final_FINAL or Kate_final_really?”
• “I’ll have to look through those external hard drives for that data….”
• “Do you still have a copy of that software we were using in 2011?”
Planning how you’ll manage your research data will save you time and trouble. Data management plans are required by many funding agencies, and even small projects will run more smoothly if you think through some data management issues in advance. In this workshop, we’ll discuss the research data lifecycle and practical approaches to data management that you can apply in your own work. Everyone from PIs to peons will leave this workshop with a checklist of practical first steps in data management.
