Biography
Dr. Grauer is Professor and Director of the Orthopaedic Spine Service for the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale School of Medicine.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University, graduating summa cum laude and with Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Medical Doctorate from Yale School of Medicine, graduating cum laude and with Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in spine surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University.
Clinically, Dr. Grauer specializes in the treatment of numerous conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine including degenerative conditions, scoliosis, trauma, infections, and tumors. His clinical practice is based out of Yale New Haven Hospital, and outpatients are seen at the Yale New Haven Hospital Spine Center.
Academically, Dr. Grauer is active with clinical outcomes research and is an Associate Vice-Chair of Research at the Yale Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. Nationally, he is active with many societies and editor-in-chief of their North American Spine Society Journal (NASSJ).
Administratively, Dr Grauer is also active with faculty affairs at the Yale School of Medicine. He is a point of contact for departments with the Office of Academic and Professional Development (OAPD) and responsible for a number of related projects related to that office.
