Research Summary
Participated in the Minority International Research Training at the University of the West Indies through the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute in Kingston Jamaica. I developed scales for the testing of self-esteem and stress in school children, as well as collated and performed statistical analysis of CFNI’s Basic Nutrition course.
Extensive Research Description
Pediatric psychology, Cultural diversity, Developmental evaluations, diagnostic clarification, and treatment of children 0-5.
In addition, I received minority international research training where I developed assessment tools to measure the self-esteem, stress, and trauma symptoms in children and adolescents. I also performed psychological evaluations for children referred to the psychiatric in-patient ward at the University of the West Indies Hospital through collabortion with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to diagnose and provide culturally competent counseling to children and families in crisis.
