Dr. Tsai's work is focused mainly on health services research of three different, but often related populations: adults with severe mental illness, American military veterans, and chronically homeless adults. He seeks to improve understanding of mental illnesses like schizophrenia, posttraumatic stress disorder, and substance use disorders. He is interested in improving health services through program evaluation, testing new interventions, and finding explanatory variables for individual differences in outcomes.
