Biography
I lead a program of research focused on developing behavioral therapies for chronic relapsing conditions, particularly substance use disorders and eating disorders. I am currently developing and evaluating several digital mindfulness-based therapies, including an app for relapse prevention in substance use disorders (as PI of a K23 award), a web-based intervention for heavy drinking (as Co-I of a R01), and a web-based intervention for relapse prevention in eating disorders. I have published over 50 peer-reviews papers in high-impact journals and have co-authored a book entitled Mindfulness-Advances in Psychotherapy. Moreover, I have developed and made freely available a manual that guides clinicians on how to implement Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) as a rolling admission group and have developed a resource website for clients called PracticeMBRP.com. Finally, I provide mentorship in addiction and mindfulness-focused research for Yale post-docs, medical students, and undergraduates.
