Biography
Dr. Shilpa Rao is Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology at the Yale School of Medicine. She obtained her medical degree from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College and graduated with honors and a gold medal for the best outgoing student of her class, in 2003. She trained in Anesthesiology in Mumbai, India for a period of three years. Subsequently, she completed her Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship from Women's and Children's Hospital, Buffalo in 2011, and a Neuro-Anesthesiology Fellowship from Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio in 2012. Dr. Rao completed her Anesthesiology Residency from Cleveland Clinic, Ohio in 2016 and is Board Certified in Anesthesiology. Her work primarily involves administering anesthesia to adult and pediatric neurosurgical patients and teaching residents and fellows. She is also actively involved in various sub-committees of SNACC (Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care) and has published various educational materials on their website.
