We successfully completed a data sync between the News and People Profile System and Workday this morning. There are two updates that are important to bring to your attention:
1. Titles
- The Workday team has completed a process to generate ‘display-friendly’ academic titles. Please review the criteria used by the Workday team to create these titles and email ysmacademic@yale.edu to report an imported academic title error.
2. Secondary Appointments
- We are currently using a person’s ‘Job Profile’ organization association from Workday to assign membership to departments. We are still working with the Workday team to receive clean academic appointment information. Until we are able to successfully import appointment data, we are unable to add new members to departments if they only have a secondary or joint appointment to the department. We hope to have this resolved in October.
We will continue to complete weekly syncs with Workday data for the foreseeable future. We hope to begin daily syncs sometime in October.
