Sofia Noori, MD, MPH, Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry, has been appointed to SELF Magazine’s Medical Review Board.

SELF’s new medical review board will comprise leading medical experts who will review health articles as an additional step in the magazine’s fact-checking process.

“I'm looking forward to ensuring that accurate, high-quality information about mental health gets shared with the community. I hope that by participating, I'll help reduce the stigma around mental health as it is presented to the general public,” Noori said.

As a medical reviewer, Noori will check for medical accuracy and confirm that an article’s links and citations reference material is still relevant, that the information presented is clear and concise, and that everything is accurate to the best of her knowledge.

Noori's clinical focus lies in trauma, PTSD, and women's mental health. Noori practices at Cornell Scott Hill Health Center, a federally qualified health center, and recently launched a digital health practice focused on providing intensive PTSD therapy to trauma survivors called Nema Health.
