Biography
Dr. Sofia Noori is a Clinical Instructor at Yale Department of Psychiatry and a graduate of the department's Adult Psychiatry Residency Program. While a resident, she served as the department's first Chief Resident of Digital Psychiatry and co-developed the nation's first digital psychiatry residency curriculum, which educates trainees on digital health and app prescribing. At Yale she served as the curriculum lead for Innovation to Impact, a NIDA-funded substance use entrepreneurship program that helps addiction researchers and clinicians commercialize their insights for the public good. She was a founding member of the Center for Digital Psychiatry at the Connecticut Mental Health Center, which aims to integrate digital health in the care of patients with serious mental illness.
Aside from her endeavors in digital health, she is the co-founder of the Women’s Mental Health Conference at Yale, which increases awareness and education of important topics in women’s mental health. She is also the co-founder of the Yale Women's Housestaff Organization, an organization dedicated to improving the well-being and advancement of self-identified women at Yale.
Dr. Noori's clinical focus lies in trauma, PTSD and women's mental health. She maintains a private practice focused on treating patients with PTSD using evidence-based treatments. Dr. Noori also practices at Cornell Scott Hill Health Center, a federally qualified health center. She speaks both English and Spanish.
She is an MD graduate of the PRIME program at UCSF School of Medicine, a dual-degree program that trains emerging physician-leaders to transform care for underserved populations. Dr. Noori received her MPH in health policy and management at UC Berkeley.
