Daniel DiCapua, MD has been promoted to Clinical Director of Neuromuscular Medicine. He will continue to work with Neuromuscular Medicine Division Chief Dr. Huned Patwa, MD and faculty to maintain the division’s clinical excellence and expand access to its clinical expertise.
The consummate academic clinician, Dr. DiCapua was the pillar of the Neurology Clerkship for seven years and seamlessly led the program through the multi-year transition to the current Yale School of Medicine (YSM) curriculum. He continues to serve as the Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship Director and has ushered the program into the Next GME Accreditation System while doubling the number of fellowship positions. He has also sat on YSM’s admissions committee and on the Yale New Haven Hospital pharmacy and therapeutics committee.
Dr. DiCapua is a renowned clinician educator. Dedicated to continuously educating his peers, he speaks at interdepartmental conferences both at Yale and at peer institutions and serves as the director of the weekly CME-approved Neuromuscular Educational Conference Series. On the national level, he has worked with the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), educating his colleagues and serving as the chair of the 2019 AAN NeuroSAE project. He also sits on the National Neuromuscular Medicine ACGME Milestone Development committee.
Driven by his clinical expertise, Dr. DiCapua is a P&T committee member for Prime Therapeutics LLC, which drives clinical pharmacy and therapeutics for over 27 million people across thirteen states. He remains active in multiple clinical trials and continues to publish within his field and across departments. He was recently awarded the AAN’s Fellow Status, a welcome addition to his local and national teaching and educational awards.
