The Psychology Section of the Yale Department of Psychiatry is pleased to announce the twenty-one new Fellows who will join its psychology pre-doctoral internship program in July. The group, who will become the Section's Class of 2013, was determined by a national Match process and announced on Friday, February 24th. This year, a record 359 individuals submitted applications to train at Yale.
“We are enormously pleased with the outcome,” said Dr. Michael Hoge, Director of Clinical Training in Psychology. “We filled 100% of our positions in the first round of the Match with many of the best applicants in the country.”
Dr. Rajita Sinha, Chief of Psychology for the Department, commented that, “Our faculty offer a very strong internship program, which continues to grow stronger each year and draws students who show great promise for their potential influence on the field.”
The Fellows will spend a year in training in one of thirteen rotations, which are based at the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC), Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH), and the Yale Stress Center. Students typically complete this clinically oriented internship as the final year of a five-year program of graduate study, which leads to a PhD or PsyD.
