Biography
Dr. Poncin has administrative, leadership, and clinical responsibilities within the Yale Child Study Center and Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Roles include Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and Quality & Safety and Medical Directorships for Outpatient Clinical Services, Children's Day Hospital, and In-Home Intensive Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Service. He formerly held Medical Directorships for the Children's Psychiatric Inpatient Services (aka Winnie), and the Child Psychiatric Service to the Pediatric Emergency Department for Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Other roles have included consultation to parents and schools for educational matters, and consultation with juvenile justice and after school extended day treatment services. Dr. Poncin views the developmental course of children and adults as shaped by the interactions of biological vulnerability, individual psychology, family function, and the environment. His interest and experience are in the care of individuals and their families who present with complex psychosocial distress across multiple domains.
