Born and raised in lower Fairfield County, Dr Peden played a variety of sports including football, baseball, and ice hockey throughout his youth and high school years. He attended Brown University, graduating in 2004. As an undergraduate he worked with the athletic department at Brown on sports medicine and rehabilitation.
Dr. Peden then spent four years at the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. He worked with the sports medicine physicians for the St. Louis Cardinals and participated in molecular bone-health orthopaedic research in Washington University's world-renowned research department.
Dr. Peden then went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at George Washington University in Washington. A five year program, it provided teaching and experience in general orthopaedics, including pediatric and hip surgery, as well as an in-depth experience with several highly trained and experienced foot and ankle surgeons. Foot and ankle surgery was appealing to Dr. Peden because of the unique anatomy and opportunity for a wide range of surgeries, including reconstruction, deformity correction, trauma, and sports medicine.
He then went on to a one-year fellowship in foot and ankle orthopaedic surgery at the Michigan International Foot and Ankle Center under the guidance of Arthur Manoli II, MD. During this year, Dr. Peden performed further research, including original papers that defined foot and ankle anatomy in new and unique ways.
After fellowship, Dr Peden worked for a private practice in Greenwich, Conn. for five years. During this time he performed extensive foot and ankle orthopaedic as well as general orthopaedic surgery, primarily at the Greenwich Hospital.
In 2019, Dr. Peden joined Yale University where based out of the department's Stamford office, he continues to serve patients in lower Fairfield County and Westchester. Dr. Peden performs surgeries at Greenwich Hospital and its outpatient surgical facilities.
