How do you start a literature review? What if you find way too much information? What if you find nothing at all? What do you do with all these articles? And how do you know when you’re done?

Join us to talk about your public health/biomedical literature review, from early planning to final proofreading. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll outline a lit review for your topic. You'll figure out what information you're looking for, plan how to organize it in the manuscript, pick useful bibliographic databases, and brainstorm search terms. We'll also discuss citation management, notetaking, and critical appraisal. By the end of the session, you’ll have a plan for your literature review and a list of new resources for reference management and project management. Most importantly, you’ll have confidence that you can get your next lit review done quickly and well. You'll get more out of this workshop if you already have a specific research topic in mind. It's great if you can Zoom in to this interactive workshop with two screens handy, so you can watch on one screen and write on the other. This workshop is designed for people writing all kinds of literature reviews, not systematic reviews in particular. If you’re interested in systematic reviews, please join us – but also watch the video tutorials at https://library.medicine.yale.edu/tutorials/subjects/systematic-searches.
