Informational Meeting: Student Leaders Needed for Open Access Week

Do you have an interest in scholarly publishing? Are you seeking a volunteering opportunity, or hoping to gain leadership experience? Do you like FREE coffee?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, you should know that the Medical Library is seeking student volunteers to help run a tabling event in the library during International Open Access Week.

During this informational meeting, you'll hear from medical librarian, Kayla Del Biondo, and your peers as we plan this event, and discuss the possibility of starting a student coalition for open access research on campus.

International Open Access Week is this month, October 24 - 30, 2022. Open Access helped information flow rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic (see section 2 from this Memorandum from the OSTP of the U.S. Government). The climate crisis is no different; we will have to share knowledge without borders. Hence, the 2022 Theme for OA Week, Open for Climate Justice.
