YCCI Co-director/CTSA Co-PI

Call for Nominations

The Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI), funded by a major NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), has a “multi-PI,” dual director structure currently comprised of Robert Sherwin, MD, and Brian Smith, MD. Bob Sherwin has retired as of the first of the year and we are looking to replace his position as co-PI of the NIH CTSA grant and as co-director of YCCI. We are seeking input from the Yale community to identify current faculty who would be possible candidates for that position. Self-nominations are welcome.

Qualifications for the position include an established history of an ongoing robust research program involving clinical and translational research (the latter may be anywhere along the T1 to T4 spectrum) supported by significant levels of NIH extramural funding; evidence of national/international eminence in one’s field; experience in administration of programs involving multiple faculty and complex budgeting; a pan-university institutional commitment; and demonstration of strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

If you are nominating yourself, you will be asked to upload the following:

  • cover letter
  • CV
  • NIH biosketch

If you are nominating someone else, you will need to provide their name and a brief statement.

Please submit all nominations, including self-nominations, by February 1.
