Mary Geda is the Associate Program Director for the Yale Program on Aging and the Co-Leader for the Field Operations of the Yale Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center. She also manages several ambitious projects at Yale including VALIANT: COVID-19 in Older Adults and the Pain Management Collaboratory Coordinating Center (PMC3). She has over 20 years' experience in the field with experience that ranges from recruiting participants into clinical trials with drugs/devices to overseeing multi-center research projects involving >100 hospitals across the U.S. and internationally. She has an excellent grasp of the organizational dynamics of clinical research because she has served in a wide variety of roles including Clinical Trial Coordinator (UPenn), Research Subject Advocate/Research Monitor (UPenn), IRB Manager/Co-Chair (Univ. of CO), and Research Project Director (Yale).
Ms. Geda specializes in developing and building the infrastructure needed to support research programs. She has been involved in initiatives at every institution in which she has worked including developing an institutional clinical research coordinator training program at UPenn, obtaining AAHRPP accreditation at the University of Colorado IRB, and building a sustainable infrastructure for REDCap at Yale. In recognition of her high level of engagement and her contributions to the research, she is included as co-author on publications in a variety of clinical areas, research designs, and populations.
