Mireya Vilar-Compte

Biography

Dr. Mireya Vilar-Compte is currently an Associate Professor at the Research Centre for Equitable Development at the Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico City), and a Research Fellow at the Yale School of Public Health. Her work focuses on health inequities and early life health determinants, and the translation of this research into feasible and evidence-based interventions. She has performed research in areas such as breastfeeding, food insecurity, mHealth, and early nutrition environments, amongst others. Her research has been funded by national and international agencies, and she has worked in liaison with international agencies and universities across the globe. Dr. Vilar-Compte has more than 30 articles published in top peer-reviewed international journals. She holds a PhD in Health Policy from New York University.
