Research Summary
Dr. Buck's research aims to understand how the perinatal environment influences growth and developmental outcomes in preterm infants. Her current projects focus on the influence of obesity and diabetes in pregnancy on body composition changes, adiposity development, and metabolism in infants born preterm. Dr. Buck is a member of the Yale NOURISH Team (Yale Neonatal Nutrition Outcomes Research In Sustaining mother and infant Health). This translational research team studies health outcomes affected by pregnancy and lactation, and specifically focuses on the mother/infant lactation experience and infant growth and development, especially in the setting of growth restriction or prematurity.
