Research Summary

  • In structural heart interventions, my research assessed novel approaches in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) as high valve implantation and bioprosthetic valve modification during valve-in-valve TAVI. For the first time, I tested the real-world feasibility of the novel transcatheter tricuspid repair/replacement interventions (TriClip, Pascal TR, and Evoque). Further, our team investigated the outcomes of structural interventions in patients with different comorbidities (Cancer, CKD, and transplant recipients).
  • In addition, I have a special interest in global cardiovascular health, especially in underserved areas and developing countries. My published research evaluated the benefits of statins and polypills in primary CVD prevention and assessed the contributions of developing countries to clinical trials in cardiovascular medicine. As a member of the Yale Global Cardiovascular Health Initiative, I continue my efforts towards cardiovascular health equity for patients worldwide.
  • My research was cited in >30 National/International guidelines, state policies, and more than 40 randomized clinical trials and patents.
