Biography

Dr. Britt Lewis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a “New Havener” born and raised, and is a bi-racial Black woman. She currently works for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services as the Interim Director of Clinical Services at Connecticut Mental Health Center, has a Private Practice in downtown New Haven, and has a Yale University faculty appointment as a Clinical Instructor of Social Work in Psychiatry. Dr. Lewis was a member of the Yale ARTF-Community Team and is now serving as one of the Co-Chairs of the Yale ARCH-Professional Development Team. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University, her Master of Social Work from Fordham University, and her Doctor of Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. Dr. Lewis has focused her work primarily on combatting the symptoms of racial trauma and working towards racial equity.
