Biography
Samantha Salas is a nurse practitioner on the stroke service for the Yale New Haven Hospital department of neurology. She is a graduate of Yale School of Nursing with a Master of Nursing degree and is a board certified adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP-BC). She received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, which is her hometown. Previous to pursuing her career as a nurse practitioner, Sam was a medical scribe in the emergency department for 4 years during her undergraduate years, which sparked her interest in medicine. She has a particular interest in global health and care of underserved populations and previously volunteered for the Yale HAVEN Free Clinic and Refugee Patient Navigator program. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, calligraphy, playing the guitar, and singing.
