Biography

Dr. Bloom is interested in the development and nature of our common-sense understanding of ourselves and other people. The studies conducted in his laboratory are strongly interdisciplinary, combining theory and research from areas such as cognitive, social, and developmental psychology, evolutionary theory, linguistics, theology, and philosophy. He is currently working with students on a range of different issues, including social cognition in babies, the developing understanding of art and fiction, and the nature of disgust and humor.
