Biography
Years of research experience have led to my accumulated exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills. With publishing more than 350 papers in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals such as Lancet Infectious Disease, Lancet Regional Health – Americas, my h-index is 38 with a total citation of more than 5900.
I am the editor of high-index Journals including Cells (IF: 6), Frontiers in Immunology (IF: 7.3), Journal of Fungi (IF: 4.7), Biology (IF: 4.2), Viruses (IF: 4.7), Frontiers in Medicine (IF: 3.9), toxins (IF: 4.2), and Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (IF: 2.3); member of the editorial board and reviewer of numerous high-profile journals, with multiple awards and grants in multiple first-rate scientific conferences all over the world. In addition, I am the section editor of Technology in Dermatology including Artificial Intelligence in the International Journal of Dermatology.
My research at Yale is focused on genetic skin diseases such as Ichthyosis, Hailey-Hailey disease, and Darier disease. The aim is to explore the pathophysiology of these diseases and discover new treatment options.
Additionally, I am investigating the possible association between clonal hematopoiesis and skin cancer to determine the underlying pathophysiology and mechanism.
Furthermore, I am collaborating with national and international organizations, primarily through Yale Dermatology, to create a Registry of Ichthyosis patients. The goal of this registry is to alleviate the suffering of patients and provide a platform for better communication and understanding among families affected by Ichthyosis and related illnesses.
Moreover, I am in collaboration with colleagues from the University of New Haven to develop a tool utilizing machine learning. This tool aims to construct an algorithm capable of offering a clinical diagnosis of Ichthyosis when a healthcare provider uploads a photo of a rare skin disease for analysis.
