Dr. Gardner joined Yale New Haven Health in 2022 after completing his critical care fellowship at Stanford University. He attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Pennsylvania for medical school. He then completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California, where he was selected as chief resident. Following residency, he worked as an Emergency Medicine attending physician at UCSF and Eden Medical Center in the Bay Area before starting his critical care fellowship at Stanford in 2020.
Dr. Gardner splits his clinical time between the ICU and Emergency Department. His academic interests include the use of ultrasound in cardiac arrest, improving the interface between the ICU and Emergency Department, wilderness medicine, and medical education. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Gardner’s interests include mountaineering, rock climbing and running.
