Eran Magen, PhD

Biography

Eran Magen, Ph.D., is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry in the Yale School of Medicine. Eran earned his M.A. in education and Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford University. He completed post-doctoral training in child psychology and population health as a Robert wood Johnson Health & Society Scholar, and then served as the research director for the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Counseling and Psychological Services.

Eran's work has been published in top-tier scientific journals including Psychological Science, Emotion, and Academic Pediatrics, as well as in popular media including Forbes, Allure Magazine, GQ, and Psychology Today. He is a member of the Jed Foundation's advisory board.

In his free time, Eran enjoys investing time with his son, practicing jiujitsu, dogs dogs dogs, making music, and writing about himself in the third person.

Eran is the founder of:

Early Alert, which prevents suicide among students in school, colleges, and universities.

My MD-to-Be, which teaches families and friends of medical students how to support students throughout medical school.

Parenting For Humans, a relationship-first, trauma-informed parenting movement that helps parents build more joyful and collaborative relationships with their children.

Divorcing Dads, which supports divorcing dads in staying connected with their children and (re-)building productive and satisfying lives.
