Biography
Edouard Coupet Jr, MD, MS, is a NIDA-sponsored Yale Drug Use, Addiction, and HIV Scholar (DARHS) and Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Coupet graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He completed medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and his residency training at the Jacobi/Montefiore Emergency Medicine program. Following his residency, he completed a Center for Emergency Care Policy & Research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Coupet’s primary research interests are in the intersection between substance use & community violence, emergency department-based interventions for substance use and substance use disorders, and socio-economic and racial/ethnic disparities in access to addiction treatment.
