Biography
Dr. Alfredo Puing is originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universidad Central del Ecuador in Quito, Ecuador. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and was the “Outstanding PGY-3” resident award recipient. Dr. Puing then pursued further specialization with fellowships in Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and in Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases at Stanford University. Before joining Yale, Dr. Puing served for three years as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. Dr. Puing has been actively involved in clinical research focusing on infectious diseases and immunocompromised patients.
