Biography
Al-Assyia Arjami Al-Mahdi is a Research Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. She received her bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in public health at Southern Connecticut State University in 2013. During her Bachelor studies she worked in many roles as a youth mentor, research assistant, family-based recovery in-home services provider, and applied behavior analysis therapist for children and adolescents.
Her current role consists of conducting experimental e-cigarette exposure studies that focus on prioritized groups in tobacco research: people who smoke menthol cigarettes and Black people.
