Norman C. Fost, M.D. ’64, M.P.H., professor of pediatrics and bioethics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, has received two awards honoring his achievements in biomedical ethics and human research protection. Fost accepted the Patricia Price Browne Prize in Biomedical Ethics in February 2007. The prize, now in its founding year, is supported by the Children’s Medical Research Institute and administered through the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. In late 2006 Fost received the Award for Excellence in Human Research Protection, created by the Health Improvement Institute, a nonprofit charitable organization. This lifetime achievement award recognizes excellence in promoting the well-being of people who participate in research.
