Information Session: Institutional Career Development Awards (K12/KL2) at Yale, Jan. 24

Program directors will present information on three K12 programs and one KL2 program currently recruiting new scholars. There will be a brief overview of each program and the eligibility requirements with time allotted for questions. The session will be held on Thursday, January 24, from 10-11 a.m., in Brady Auditorium, B131.

Programs are as follows:


Yale Scholars in Implementation Science

Director: Steven L. Bernstein MD

An NIH-funded K12 program designed to train junior faculty in late-stage dissemination and implementation science in the fields of heart, lung, blood, and sleep medicine.


Yale Drug use, Addiction, and HIV Research Scholars

Directors: Gail D’Onofrio MD, MS and Patrick G. O’Connor MD, MPH, FACP

A K12-sponsored fellowship that provides a comprehensive three-year, post-doctorate, interdisciplinary, mentored career development program aimed to prepare investigators for careers focusing on improving medical outcomes for patients with, and at risk for drug abuse, addiction, and HIV, by integrating prevention and treatment in general medical settings including emergency departments and primary care, and HIV, adolescent, and women’s health clinics.


Yale Cancer Center (YCC) K12 Calabresi Immuno-Oncology Training Program

Director: Harriet Kluger MD

A K12 training program for junior faculty who have demonstrated a strong commitment to a career in cancer immunology and wish to enhance their research skills beyond the training provided during graduate and postgraduate training. Open to scholars in both clinical and bench research.


Yale KL2 Mentored Clinical Scholars Program

Directors: Eugene Shapiro MD, Lloyd Cantley MD and Rajita Sinha PhD

A KL2 training program for highly talented junior faculty across multiple disciplines in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Engineering who are interested in pursuing careers in any aspect (T1- T4) of translational research. The program is a component of the Yale Clinical and Translational Science Award.
