March 20, 2019

Eight first- and second-year students from the Yale Physician Associate Program participated in the annual AAPA Leadership & Advocacy Summit last week. They, along with a contingent of practicing PAs from Connecticut, paid visits to the offices of Rep. Rosa DeLauro and Senators Richard Blumenthal and Christopher Murphy to lobby for legislation impacting PA Practice, specifically the Promoting Access to Diabetic Shoes Act and the Act to Provide for Direct Payment to PAs under the Medicare program. The Summit also emphasized ongoing advocacy at the state and national level to enhance PA practice laws and patient access to care.
