Students invited to enter Yale-UCL poetry competition

by Anahita Amiri

For the third year running, medical and engineering students at Yale are invited to submit entries to the Yale-UCL Poetry Competition. The diversity of poems submitted in the past two years, by both medical and engineering students, has been truly amazing, and a pleasure to read by the judging panel. Each year all poems are judged by Professor John Martin, the Yale-UCL Collaborative co-director, together with academic members of the English, Engineering, and Medical departments at UCL and Yale.

This is a chance for the creative writers among you to write a poem on a topic of their choice for a chance to win £1000 (~$1,500). Last year the winning poems were published in the New York Times. The winners of this year’s contest will be announced at the end of June 2013.
