Philip Lowry, M.D. ’81, named medical director for UP Health System Cancer Center

Philip Lowry, M.D. ’81, has taken on the position of medical director for UP Health System Cancer Center in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Lowry was previously chief medical director of the Hematology and Oncology Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, Penn. Prior to that, Lowry was medical director of the Centre Medical and Surgical Associates Cancer Program in State College, PA.

Lowry obtained an undergraduate degree at Harvard College in 1977 and graduated from the Yale School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. Lowry will see patients at clinics in Marquette and Doctor's Park in Escanaba. In addition to leading the Cancer Center’s clinical team, he will serve as clinical liaison with the Duke Cancer Network.
